Actress Demi Moore says she still considers Bruce Willis family despite their divorce, regularly visiting and supporting her ex-husband as he battles illness.
In an interview with Variety on February 6, Moore, 62, spoke about her ongoing bond with the 70-year-old "Die Hard" star, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023.
“We will always be family, just in a different way. For me, that was never in question. I stand by him because that’s what you do for the people you love,” Moore said.
Willis, who retired from acting in March 2022 due to aphasia—a condition affecting his ability to speak, read, and write—lives with his second wife, Emma Heming, 47, and their two daughters, Mabel (13) and Evelyn (11).
According to Variety, Moore visits Willis regularly and actively supports his family. She hopes her actions inspire others to embrace co-parenting with love, emphasizing that life after divorce doesn’t mean the end of a family bond.
“There’s always a way to make things work,” she added.
A Lifelong Connection
In a December 2024 interview with CNN, Moore shared similar sentiments, saying that her continued involvement in Willis’ life is simply an extension of their love and shared history.
"The most important thing when someone is battling an illness is to meet them where they are. From there, love and joy will follow," she said.
Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and share three daughters: Rumer (37), Scout (34), and Tallulah (31). Despite their high-profile divorce, they have remained close and supported each other’s careers.
In 2019, Willis attended the Los Angeles book launch for Moore’s memoir, posing for photos with Moore, his wife Emma, and their daughters. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Moore even quarantined with Willis and his family, demonstrating their continued unity.
Hollywood Icons with Lasting Legacies
Born in 1962, Demi Moore is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars, known for hits like Ghost (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993), and Disclosure (1994). She has been named one of the most beautiful women in the world by publications such as People and Shape.
Moore has been married three times—first to musician Freddy Moore (1981-1985), then to Bruce Willis, and later to Ashton Kutcher (2005-2013), who is 16 years younger than her.
Bruce Willis, born in 1955, rose to fame in romantic comedies like Moonlighting and Hudson Hawk before transitioning into action blockbusters, most notably the Die Hard franchise. He remains one of the highest-grossing actors of all time, with his films earning over $8.3 billion worldwide, according to The Numbers.
In 2009, Willis married Emma Heming, who has been his primary caregiver since his diagnosis. The actor has made few public appearances since retiring. His most recent sighting was on January 16, when he personally thanked first responders for their efforts in battling wildfires in Los Angeles.
