Elon Musk sued over million-dollar reward for voters

Pennsylvania prosecutor files a lawsuit against Elon Musk, seeking to block his $1 million reward initiative, calling it a "political lottery scheme."

On October 28, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner filed a civil lawsuit against Elon Musk and America PAC, challenging their daily $1 million reward program for voters in Pennsylvania. Krasner demands Musk to halt the initiative, arguing that it illegally incentivizes voters by offering cash in exchange for political commitments. He calls it an illegal lottery, as only the state is authorized to run such programs.

America PAC and Musk have not yet commented. The initiative, launched by Musk in early October, rewards one person per day who signs a petition supporting constitutional amendments on free speech and gun rights. The program has faced criticism for allegedly influencing voter registration and political opinions ahead of the election.

Governor Josh Shapiro and the U.S. Department of Justice have raised concerns, questioning its legality and potential impact on voter behavior. Musk insists the initiative does not encourage voting or registration but only supports those signing the petition for the Constitution.
