First Lady Jill Biden Dresses as a Panda for Final White House Halloween

First Lady Jill Biden dressed as a panda for the final Halloween celebration of President Biden’s term at the White House on October 30.

The event, themed "Hallo-READ!" to promote a love of reading, drew around 8,000 attendees, including local schoolchildren and families of government officials and U.S. military members. Jill Biden handed out copies of the children’s book 10 Spooky Pumpkins, while President Joe Biden, in a suit, distributed candy and playfully interacted with costumed kids, including a baby dressed as a turkey and another as an ice cream cone.

The White House noted that Jill Biden’s panda costume was in honor of two pandas that recently arrived at the National Zoo from China. Later in the evening, she hosted a Halloween-themed storytime on the South Lawn.

This marks the Bidens' final Halloween celebration at the White House, as President Biden announced in July he would not seek re-election, with his term ending in January 2025.
