Harris and Trump Neck-and-Neck in Battleground State Polls

Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump in four battleground states, trails in one, and ties in two, all with razor-thin margins, according to a new poll.

The New York Times/Siena College poll released on November 3 shows Vice President Kamala Harris with 49% support among likely voters in Nevada, compared to former President Donald Trump’s 46%.

Harris also holds a narrow lead over Trump in North Carolina, Georgia, and Wisconsin, with only one or two percentage points separating them. Trump, however, leads in Arizona with 49% support to Harris's 45%. The two candidates are tied in Michigan and Pennsylvania, each polling at 47% and 48%, respectively. Across the seven battleground states combined, Harris stands at 48% support, while Trump has 47%.

The poll also brings encouraging news for Democratic Senate candidates in these key states, with 50% of likely voters saying they are "likely" to vote for the Democratic candidate, compared to 45% for Republicans. Conducted from October 24 to November 2, the New York Times/Siena College survey sampled 7,879 voters across the seven battleground states, with a margin of error of 3.5% for each state. The poll ranks highly on FiveThirtyEight, a website known for analyzing polling data in the U.S.

These findings come just two days before the U.S. election, where Americans will not only vote for president but also decide key Senate races and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives.

The term "battleground state" refers to states with significant electoral votes and no clear partisan advantage, making them crucial in determining the outcome of the presidential race.

Both Republican and Democratic candidates are making last-minute campaign efforts. On November 2, Harris made a surprise appearance on the comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Several American politicians have appeared on SNL, including Hillary Clinton in 2008 and 2016 and Donald Trump in 2015. However, it is rare for a presidential candidate to appear on the show so close to Election Day.
