Keith Kellogg, appointed by President-elect Donald Trump as a special envoy for the Ukraine conflict, vowed to develop a plan to "end the bloodshed" within the first 100 days of Trump's administration.

Speaking on January 8, Kellogg announced his commitment to creating the conditions necessary for Trump to engage in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"I believe the parties can achieve a viable resolution in the near future. My personal and professional goal is to accomplish this within 100 days of starting our work," Kellogg stated.

He emphasized that Trump’s priority is to secure a "solid and lasting solution" to end the conflict and restore peace. While Kellogg refrained from disclosing specific negotiation ideas, he acknowledged the complexity of persuading Russia to cease military operations in Ukraine.

"People need to understand this: President-elect Trump is not seeking to appease President Putin or favor Russia. He is focused on saving Ukraine and ensuring its sovereignty. He will pursue a fair, impartial solution," Kellogg asserted.

Kellogg criticized President Joe Biden for what he called a "major misstep" in refusing to engage directly with Putin during nearly three years of conflict, despite its significant impact on U.S. national security and strategic interests.

"President Trump is open to dialogue with both allies and adversaries. He understands it’s a tough task but also recognizes that dialogue is the only path to finding a resolution," Kellogg said.

At a January 7 press conference in Florida, Trump accused Biden of prolonging the war by supporting Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO. Trump has previously claimed he could end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours of taking office but has not provided detailed measures. At the same press event, Trump suggested a more extended timeline, saying, "less than six months" would be needed to secure peace.
