Trump and Melania Watch Independence Day Fireworks from White House Balcony

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted a Fourth of July celebration at the White House on Thursday evening, marking America’s 249th Independence Day with fireworks, music, and military families.

Just minutes before the sky lit up over Washington, the President and First Lady stepped onto the Truman Balcony—the iconic terrace of the White House residence. Waving to guests gathered below on the South Lawn, the couple was greeted with cheers and chants of “Four more years! Four more years!” as Lee Greenwood’s patriotic anthem God Bless the USA played loudly.

Trump pumped his fist in the air and shouted “USA! USA! USA!” alongside the crowd, blew kisses, then wrapped his arm around Melania and gave her a kiss to the sound of applause and whistles.

Earlier in the evening, President Trump signed the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” a massive tax and spending package estimated to cost $4.5 trillion. The legislation cements his 2017 tax cuts into permanent law and introduces a wave of new deductions and national security investments.

The evening concluded with the traditional fireworks display on the National Mall—a breathtaking show stretching from the U.S. Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, lighting up many of the city’s most iconic monuments and museums.

As the final bursts faded, the speakers boomed with Trump’s campaign favorite: YMCA by the Village People. The President broke into his signature dance, with Melania joining in.

After a packed Independence Day in the capital, the couple departed for a quiet getaway at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
