Trump Jr. Hints at Possible Future Presidential Run

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, says he may consider running for president “someday,” signaling growing political ambitions and strong motivation to carry on his father’s legacy.

Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha on May 21, Trump Jr. was asked whether he would consider a White House bid once his father leaves office in 2028.

“The answer is, maybe someday—you never know,” he replied. Trump Jr. said he was honored to be considered a potential successor to his father and noted that “some people seem to be on board with that idea.”

He added that he would “always be active in strongly supporting” the values of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement championed by his father. “I think my father has truly reshaped the Republican Party. However you look at it, the GOP is now the party of America First and MAGA,” he said.

The comments mark a shift in tone for Trump Jr., who in March dismissed reports by Mediate claiming he was seriously weighing a 2028 presidential bid.

Now 47, Trump Jr. serves as Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and remains one of the most vocal and visible proponents of MAGA politics. He has increasingly stepped into a political role, with Reuters reporting last November that he was the most influential member of the Trump family during the presidential transition as his father shaped a new administration.

President Trump, known for valuing loyalty above all, frequently seeks political counsel from close family members. According to sources, Trump Jr. played a key role in advising on cabinet picks—reportedly backing Vice President JD Vance while pushing against a return to office for former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
